Down and Dirty in the Lo‘i

Tyler and his summer fun class at Kawaiaha‘o Church School visited the UH Hawaiian Studies lo‘i (taro patch) last week.

WOW! I remember digging a loi from scratch with my Hawaiian language class at UH for extra credit. Hard work! Then we cleaned out the auwai which had all kinds of dead toads and shrimps in there. Yuck!
